Unique log cabin restaurant in downtown setting. Very easy walk just a couple of blocks off the town square. The menu is somewhat limited and is definitely quirky and unique. The portions were small compared to the price. Service was casual and friendly. It's one of those places that you're kind of glad you experienced once but there is no compelling reason to return.
Definitely call ahead for a reservation. We did, so we were able to get a seat quickly. They were pretty crowded but it was a holiday weekend so I’m not sure what it’s like normally. It’s a pretty tight fit and we were by the one bathroom but the food made it worth it. We went for breakfast but our kids don’t really like breakfast and it was 15 minutes before they started serving lunch. Our waitress was really great and did lunch items for our kids anyway. The food came out pretty quickly and it was all fresh Ingredients and everyone loved what they ordered. The staff were really friendly; even the ones that weren’t waiting on our table. They were all really happy, helpful and didn’t try to rush us out even though the the place was insanely busy. I would definitely recommend this place.
The Cajun Eggs Benedict were great. I would order them again on my next visit. They have nice outdoor seating as well as indoor. It is just a little bit off the main square in Jackson, but worth the short walk. The service was prompt and pleasant. Glad we stopped in. Other meals at the table; chicken biscuit (good), grilled cheese and tomato soup (good), and Pig Candy Salad with chicken added (would not recommend the added chicken, the candied bacon great).
The salad i ordered was to die for! It was the raw greens one. Amazing!! And i also want to thank you because my child got the maccaroni and cheese from the kid's menu and I've never seen a better kid's meal anywhere else. Usually not much effort is put into kid's meals but this one...it was fresh, it was tasty. You could tell they cared about making something good for a child. So thank you very much! Will be back when we visit WY!
If you have foodie friends you'd like to impress, bring them here. The wife reports that Genevieve has the best burger she has ever had in her life. Consistently excellent staff, ambiance, and food. They specialize in local meat, so beware if you're vegan or even vegetarian. Regarding those griping about the price: for a sit-down meal in Jackson, it's on the lower end of average. If you want something cheaper, head on over to Bubba's BBQ.
