Grand Targhee Resort
Grand Targhee Resort is renowned for a family-friendly atmosphere and draws families from around the US looking for a fun and intimate ski vacation destination. Our Kids Club prioritizes an individual approach, and our Ski and Snowboard School staff are dedicated to improving the quality of our guest experience. Our Nordic Trail System offers 15 km of groomed track for touring and skating, and offers the longest Nordic season in the region thanks to our elevation and early snowfall. Guests can learn more about native wildlife, flora and fauna by joining our Resort Naturalist on daily snowshoe tours.

From a standpoint of traveling all over the US, I would rank the resort as alright but nothing special. Rooms are a little better than a Motel 6 but it is clear that a lot of visitors pour through the doors but not much is done to update or freshen up the property. The Grand Targhee Lodge Loft Suite which is suppose to sleep eight can barely accommodate 6 and not six adults. The price is a out of range for what you get. The positive side is the skiing. AWESOME. The activities, bars, restaurants are convenient and easy to walk to from the lodge. I am not sure how terrible it would be to drive up everyday from town but the parking lot is empty at 6 am and by 0730 it is packed. I think I will try staying at a more reasonably priced hotel in Driggs or Jackson and take advantage of things the towns have to offer.
Spent a nice day on the slopes at Targhee. The slopes are very nice and offer a variety of challenges. We got some lunch at the outside grill, which offered hamburgers, hotdogs and bean burgers (along with beer and other beverages). The food was good, and my sister said it was one of the best bean burgers she'd had. The staff were all very nice, and willing to chat. Overall, I highly recommend Targhee to ski, visibility can be challenging from what I've heard, but every time I've been it's been a blue bird day.
Grand Targhee Ski Resort was wonderful! The slopes were well groomed, and it wasn't too busy. The staff were kind, and the lodge's happy hour has some great deals.
Great snow. The daycare is very caring. We love that they have rooms with tables to hang out for lunch without going to one of the (excellent) restaurants.
We had a guaranteed check in time of 4:00. We didn't get checked in until later because 6 housekeepers called in sick and our room wasn't ready. We made dinner reservations and watched people who were seated after us be waited on first. We didn't get help until my husband went to the hostess and asked why we weren't being helped. Then to finish the evening, we had no hot water for showers. It's a beautiful place but we won't be back.
