Bell Nob Golf Course opened in the fall of 1980 as part of a Golf Course Housing Development. In 1982 the present club house was built and the course was independently operated until 1984. The original front nine was closed in early 1985 but a group tried to keep the back nine going until 1989 when due to financial difficulties, the property was purchased by Campbell County. In the spring of 1990, the purchase complete, the current golf course superintendent and golf pro were hired by Campbell County Public Works. The golf course was a division of the public works office until 1997 when it transferred to Campbell County Parks and Recreation. Bell Nob consists of an 18 hole regulation Par 72 Championship Golf Course and a 9 hole Par 3 course.
