Cheyenne’s New Year’s Eve Ball Drop kicks off at 3 p.m. with events aimed for kids, including games, horse-drawn carriage rides and ice skating, ending with a 6 p.m. ball drop and fireworks show. Come back that evening to watch the ball drop in the plaza.

The New Year’s Eve Buck and Ball has been a go-to celebration in Gillette, Wyoming for years. Doors open at 4 p.m. although the rodeo doesn’t start until 7. Pokey’s BBQ will be served and over $10,000 of proceeds will be given back to local non-profits. Guests will watch as cowboys participate in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and bull riding.
